The system is inclusive of the software for the qualitative analysis of the dates external surface. The analysis is based on the calculation of the distribution of the characteristics in the visible spectrum and in the near infrared (800-900 nm) for the visible surface of the dates. The software contains algorithms specifically developed for this type of fruits, with attention to the possibility to calculate the distribution of the areas of lighter color typically associated with parts of skin raised and detached from the pulp

Camera vision is a fast, economic, dependable and objective inspection and classification technique: An automatic fruit Camera recognition system which is able to identify with high speed and accuracy all product features such as size, defect, quality, color, texture, ripeness advantages to its users. Automatic dates classification The method implemented by our Vision extracts visual datas and features from the date. Several variables are taken into account. Length, shape, softness, intensity (among others) eligible variables which provide information to the computer vision system. Our method then gives this information to a machine learning scheme for automatic classification of dates. After proper training, performed by comparing data to a manual classifier – the system provides an excellent automatized dates classification.
